Our group is reading a book, called Maroo of winter caves. It is about a girl who lived in the Paleolithic age, whose life was difficult to support a village community. I also want to tell you one passage to persuade you to read the book.
One of my favorite passages is on page 20, in which Maroo and Otak saw a lonely puppy with her wounded mother probably attacked by a wolve. Maroo was thinking if she should let the dog die or live, because her tribe was a rival to dogs for they used to eat their food and leave nothing for the starving people in her village. But Maroo still took the dog because she knew a tribe from a different tribe called the Blue Lake tribe. The man had a dog and domesticated it to be a trained dog, and Maroo thought if he could, why couldn't she? She tried to touch the dog, but it snarled at her viciously. I think the dog was in a bad mood not to talk to anyone because her leg was wounded. My group was interested in the passage I picked.
My understanding of this passage is good, because this gave me a thought of what is going to happen in the next chapter. Consequently, this made me to look forward and to read more.

In humanities class our teacher selected the best book that would be suitable for our Knowledge, after that we wrote a discussion sheet. The discussion really helped me because I know more about the characters which helps me in making predictions of what will happen to them and their connections example Maroo and Otak are brother and sister and have a puppy.
I think connections really helped me because I never knew Maroo came from the old stone age (Paleolithic age), that made me to be interested in Maroo of winter cave. The author choice’s of language structure is fascinating and that makes the passage very clear to read.
I did not understand some passages but as soon as I discussed with my group that put more clarity in my knowledge. The group also brought some problems but as soon as I listened we resolved the problems. The group discussion also brought opportunities to socialize and exchange ideas.
