In are humanities class, we where reading the book maroo of winter caves. I have talked about these subjects in my past few blog post.

When Maroo's tribe left there area, Maroo had a lot of responsibility's to do. She has to take care of otak her younger brother, and her mother who is pregnant when they weren't moving to different places to find food. Also on this note Maroo's tribe had trouble moving, from the lack of food. On this journey to find food, Maroo and Otak saw a dog in agonizing pain and treated the dog and they had a strong bondage with it and later they named him Rivo which means friend.

Maroo also has to live to the death of his farther Areg, who died by falling down a cliff. When Maroo's farther died maroo and his younger brother Otak, were crying because his farther is dead and they cant do anything. This didn't bring any effect into maroo's life, only her future because his dad was the leader of the tribe ,and I think Arag is Maroo's role modle. She also lost her farther at a very young a age.

Maroo is a strong brave confident girl, who has devoted her life to save her tribe and her family. The final change of maroo was that she and Otak her brother, have to go and find food for thier tribe with rivo the dog because the tribes only way to survival is when they have meat. Old mothere told maroo it was going to be a long journey and asked them if they are starving they should kill rivo. Maroo and Otak didnt seem keen with the idea of killing rivo there dog, because both of them have a strong bound with the dog.

This shows Maroo is a strong hearted girl.

  1. I think Dara is right about Maroo on his last paragraph. Maroo is very confident and I think she often shows it to to others so they won't be scared. On PG 54, when Maroo and her mother were guarding the tribe she said that her grandmother's star was shining just to comfort her mother. Also she is confident in her fears. PG 13, when Otak wanted to see a mountain loin she didn't say "Oh...um... I guess not" instead she said "I don't want to see one" so she must be very confident in everything.

I disagree with Dara on his third paragraph. I think it did bring plenty of effect. I mean just because she didn't emotionally show it doesn't mean it didn't affect her life physically. on PG 67 she realized that there was no hunter. This may be one of the causes the starvation because nobody was able to hunt. Also if Areg was aalive and Vorka wasn't injured than they may have been able to get to the winter place. Areg and Vorka could've built some shelter find food so that they wouldn't starve.

I think Dara did well on his blog post. Next blog he should put more info on more other characters. This could help the people who read his blog and understand the characters and book. And the people who are in his group may understand about how he feels about the characters and put their input on it.
