What i have accomplished in the past 5 months.

I have accomplished a lot of things, in my previous saying what i needed to accomplish. i have starting to get good grades in my work, and started to get new friends in different grades this is such an accomplishment for me especially getting good grades because my usual score is a D- C or an NP but now it is usually a B- B A or C+. And i am also really organised in my work.

I am so surprised 5 months have past because I fell it has just been yesterday, that i started to enter my humanities classroom and touching the laptop and for the very first time typing my blog post over again. And it is now Christmas break.

The skills i have learned in the past few months are.

PE: How to play soccer.

Hum: How to stay on top of all my work ( This goes for all my core subjects).

SCI: Understanding what my teacher say's.

Math : How to think out of the box.

there are some others that i don't say because it going to take some time, or it is personal.

I hope in the next trimester i can have the same accomplishments, even better i can do more than this.

Dear Ann Turnbull this is Dara i am an ISKL student i simply just adore your book maroo of winter caves, it really makes me think about what will happen in the next chapter . Are group is doing something called lit circles, this is when we write passages question and vocabulary about your book maroo of the winter caves and write blogpsost like now . Sadly it has come to an end of our lit circles and are final blog post.

MS. Turnbull if you are reading my blog i have a question for you how did you come up with the charaters? Because i don't think Maroo or Otak is a common name. Also how did you come up with the name Maroo of winter caves? In my point of view i think i would have called it Otak and Maroo of the winter caves. Why because i think Otak is in as much parts as Maroo, i think the reason you put her name not otak, is mostly because she was the the leader of Otak. And how many times did it take for you to publish this books? My final question is why did you want to write this book

I am happy i had this privilege to ask you question, hoping you will read it and maybe send a comment back to me. i wish i can read your book over and over again but we have to give our books back. bye.

Ps Your book Rocks.

Untitled

In are humanities class, we where reading the book maroo of winter caves. I have talked about these subjects in my past few blog post.

When Maroo's tribe left there area, Maroo had a lot of responsibility's to do. She has to take care of otak her younger brother, and her mother who is pregnant when they weren't moving to different places to find food. Also on this note Maroo's tribe had trouble moving, from the lack of food. On this journey to find food, Maroo and Otak saw a dog in agonizing pain and treated the dog and they had a strong bondage with it and later they named him Rivo which means friend.

Maroo also has to live to the death of his farther Areg, who died by falling down a cliff. When Maroo's farther died maroo and his younger brother Otak, were crying because his farther is dead and they cant do anything. This didn't bring any effect into maroo's life, only her future because his dad was the leader of the tribe ,and I think Arag is Maroo's role modle. She also lost her farther at a very young a age.

Maroo is a strong brave confident girl, who has devoted her life to save her tribe and her family. The final change of maroo was that she and Otak her brother, have to go and find food for thier tribe with rivo the dog because the tribes only way to survival is when they have meat. Old mothere told maroo it was going to be a long journey and asked them if they are starving they should kill rivo. Maroo and Otak didnt seem keen with the idea of killing rivo there dog, because both of them have a strong bound with the dog.

This shows Maroo is a strong hearted girl.

Our group is reading a book, called Maroo of winter caves. It is about a girl who lived in the Paleolithic age, whose life was difficult to support a village community. I also want to tell you one passage to persuade you to read the book.

One of my favorite passages is on page 20, in which Maroo and Otak saw a lonely puppy with her wounded mother probably attacked by a wolve. Maroo was thinking if she should let the dog die or live, because her tribe was a rival to dogs for they used to eat their food and leave nothing for the starving people in her village. But Maroo still took the dog because she knew a tribe from a different tribe called the Blue Lake tribe. The man had a dog and domesticated it to be a trained dog, and Maroo thought if he could, why couldn't she? She tried to touch the dog, but it snarled at her viciously. I think the dog was in a bad mood not to talk to anyone because her leg was wounded. My group was interested in the passage I picked.

My understanding of this passage is good, because this gave me a thought of what is going to happen in the next chapter. Consequently, this made me to look forward and to read more.

In humanities class our teacher selected the best book that would be suitable for our Knowledge, after that we wrote a discussion sheet. The discussion really helped me because I know more about the characters which helps me in making predictions of what will happen to them and their connections example Maroo and Otak are brother and sister and have a puppy.

I think connections really helped me because I never knew Maroo came from the old stone age (Paleolithic age), that made me to be interested in Maroo of winter cave. The author choice’s of language structure is fascinating and that makes the passage very clear to read.

I did not understand some passages but as soon as I discussed with my group that put more clarity in my knowledge. The group also brought some problems but as soon as I listened we resolved the problems. The group discussion also brought opportunities to socialize and exchange ideas.

"Courage is the ability to face danger without fear". Dara

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do"- Eleanor Roosevelt

I showed courage at school when I cut on my left hand on a glass window. The reason I got the deep cut was because I was trying to kick an ice cube. I slipped on some water, hit the glass and cut my hand. I yelled at the top of my lungs until someone heard me and came to help. I had to have about 25 stitches but yelling was not the courageous part. The courageous part was having to hear people constantly say "dude are you the one that hit the window"? Then completely random people say, "how many stitches did you get"? I had the courage to live up to the silly thing that I had done. Do I regret it? No, because I can look back an say "WOW! I had the courage to face my mistakes and live up to what I had done". My story is somewhat related to the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.

People Have to say school is boring to make you go to sleep, but i am starting not to belive it. The first day of school i started out with nothing, but now look at me i am writing a blog for every one to see, I am starting to face all my fears.

1. I think i had success in my locker, and in finding all my class. Can you belive i have never enterd the wrong class yaa, this is somthing every 6 grade has problems with. Also for people who dont think that this isnt hard and I shouldn't get all perked up all about it well this is a big accomplishment for me and for other people to.

2. Somthing i think that i should have worked harder on is complicated to say, because any time i think i did a good job it gets worse and worse. This is called organization, because it refelcts to all of my grade. So i really need to work on it.

I want to be a anthropologist, because you get to know peoples and their beliefs and share it with other people so then they can tell their friends and their friends can tell their friends. Also you get to see ancient artifacts and use your past knowledge on the artifact like where did it come from, and how those it look like. ( It almost like an archaeologist ) That is why i think being an anthropologist is cool.
